Necessary Evil Purple Lined Selene CoatThe breath taking Selene coat from Necessary Evil features a gorgeous purple lining. Fitted at the high waist, the length of this coat can be adjusted by clipping the hem up using the handy hooks for a lovely bustle effect hemline. Fastening with a front zip, this lovely coat also features a fully lined oversize hood, long sleeves, and corset style lacing on the back. Measures approximately 55" from shoulder to hem when un-adjusted, this coat looks amazing on.
Please note: this coat can be very, very tight on the arms, we'd recommend going for at least a size up.
Coat of tight arms
I love everything about this coat EXCEPT the tight fabric sewn around the middle of the sleeve. Sizing up would make that basically a non-issue, but since I'm in the middle of a successful-to-date weight loss journey, I suspect it will be less of a problem for me in a month or two. So I'm going to keep it at five stars because everything else about this coat is absolutely splendid. Want to graze the floor with your splendour? Check. Want to bustle it up to show off those stompy boots? Check. Need some high-low tapered realness? Check. You can do all that with a killer silhouette, a cape hood to protect your luscious tresses, and a gorgeous pop of colour to boot. This coat does it all and then some, and I couldn't recommend it enough. Weather-wise, unless you size up or have either really thin arms or science-defying thermal clothing, I wouldn't class this as a winter coat. It's warm, but hard to fit anything on underneath it. Think autumn or spring. All in all, this item is what I came to this site for, and I'm thrilled with my purchase! P.S. : As far as fit, again, although I'm expecting to be smaller in a few weeks, I purchased this coat in a size (S)mall, and I'm 5'3/161cm tall and I weigh 128lbs/58kg. Hope that helps!
Was really excited to recieve this coat, had to get an xl the arms are so tight I'm a 12, also when clipped up (which is what I loved about this coat) the purple lining just hangs out the back? Not just a little alot looks ******, looks like it's broken and for £99 not the best, also didnt recieve the lace or string bit for the back if it's suppose to come with the coat I don't know, so overall the coat is dissap
This is my dream coat, and I especially love the purple lining. It's very long, almost to the floor, on me (I'm 5'3") when worn unhitched but, when worn hitched up, the lining drops down, so a few strategically placed stitches in the lining will be required. The sleeves are a little snug but not a problem. Awesome, great quality coat.
