Thank you - that’s really helpful

Thanks for letting me know, I really appreciate it.

It’s genuinely helpful to understand what matters most when it comes to shipping, especially as I’m trying to find a better balance going forward.

If you do have anything else you’d like to add, you’re very welcome to leave a comment below or just email me directly at kate@katesclothing.co.uk. I do read everything, even if I can’t always reply straight away.

If you weren’t already aware, I do currently offer a Free UK Shipping Club for orders over £50, you can find out more about that here:

Thanks again for taking a moment to help, it really does make a difference.

My reason for free shipping is because your company is really clear with sizes and how the products wear (skinny fit etc) so there would be more chance of the items being suitable rather than a change of mind. I also contacted with my first order and the person was extremely helpful.

I echo what San Phillips said, it’s important to be able to try items on at home for size, especially as brands differ so much in their sizes. I rarely return items, so am happy to pay shipping to send them back for a refund or exhange (size). Love this site, it still has a very personal/family feel to it, not anonymous as most online sellers seem to be. Keep up the good work, Kate!

The ability to try items, especially when bought online, is really important. I actually don’t mind paying for shipping or returns, but free shipping is great as I don’t often return items. Mary Wyatt are really good because whilst you pay for return postage, if you choose store credit, they top it up (so if your item is £76, they will offer credit of £85) which I think is another good incentive regarding returns.

Hi Kate , so I’d say free shipping and returns payable by customer as not everyone will return their order so would benefit from free shipping however if we don’t live our items such as do not fit and its only 1 or a few things then it’s not going to cost much to return , only thing people may have a grumble about is if they do a massive order and it needs returning then the weight would count, but you can’t please all. So I’d say free ship and payable returns for these reasons OR maybe if they do need to return a bulk order could you offer a pre paid returns label?? Maybe cost wise this would save either party money would it!?
