Thank you, I’d love to understand a bit more

Thanks for letting me know, that’s really helpful.

I’m trying to get a better understanding of what matters most when it comes to returns, so I can make decisions that actually work for people.

If you’re happy to share a bit more, I’d really value it, either by leaving a comment below, or emailing me directly at kate@katesclothing.co.uk.

In particular, it’s really useful for me to understand things like:

  • whether it’s about sizing/fit uncertainty
  • wanting to try things on at home
  • or just not wanting to risk being out of pocket if something isn’t right

No pressure at all, even just your original click has already helped.

Thank you again,

Kate x

I prefer free returns as it gives you the opportunity to buy multiple items to try to get the right size and return what doesn’t fit. It’s also very disappointing treating yourself and then having to pay to return the item if it doesn’t fit or isn’t what you were expecting.

I’m often put off when having to pay for both shipping and returns online especially if only ordering one item and can’t be sure it will fit but I understand there’s no such thing as free shipping which means the seller is having to pick up the bill. Possibly a minimal rate returns charge could be used so that you can recover at least some of the cost but if postage and returns are charged at full rate I do think twice especially if its a brand I’m not sure on the sizing. I find Goth clothes are often a smaller fit but they do vary a lot between brands. Personally I would rather pay for shipping than for returns but most Goth sites I buy from now charge for returning items as well

Being online, we’re less able to know what things are like irl or try things on so returns are really valuable. Returns could also get super expensive for heavy/large/cumbersome items or if multiple items returned. I suppose it depends what the actual cost of post and returns would be- maybe offer a choice at checkout?

I think the free delivery over £50 is great, and i dont see the point of choosing free delivery under £50, over free returns. I dont personally return many items but i think it would bother me if I had to pay to return something.

The way clothes differ in sizes, between and even within brands, knowing I can do a free return is great. That way I know if something doesn’t fit right I can return it or exchange it for another size that will fit better. Also it seems that sadly a lot of brands are starting to cut corners on quality. For that reason sometimes I get an item and it feels off for me, could be the fabric or the way it’s shaped or cut. In those instances I’d rather return it to recover my spent funds rather than sell it on and make a loss
