Thanks for taking a moment to answer, I really appreciate it.
I’m trying to find a balance that feels fair, while still being sustainable for the business long-term, so honest feedback like this is incredibly useful.
If you’re happy to share - what would make this work better for you? Would a lower return fee (e.g. £2.99) make a difference? If you’d like to share a bit more, you’re very welcome to leave a comment below or email me at kate@katesclothing.co.uk - I do read everything.
As a thank you, here’s your code for £10 off (min. £50 order value):
Thanks again,

£50 is way too high for free delivery. £25 would be reasonable although I still think free delivery is much more attractive than free returns.
As others have said, this feels like I could end up paying both postage and return fee if only wanting one item, which would actually put me off purchasing. I’d suggesting lowering the threashold for free postage or implementing a flat upfront fee for free shipping for a year.
As others say lower the free shipping purchase amount, or offer a years shipping for a tenner as also suggested. Your store is one I would be willing to spend a tenner a year on shipping for access to what spend I wanted. It would probably make me spend way more over the year if the shipping was free over £20/25 or the one off £10 a year. I dont often have £50 all at once, and I dont do klarna etc because its just debt that can go wrong.
’d still prefer free shipping. Free returns can be abused by people who may want to wear & return. 😕
I pretty much only buy from places that offer free returns. As a plus size woman I find sizes and patterns can be strange and often aren’t designed for the bigger bust so if they do fit, dresses can end up rising up and being too short. (Looking at you punk rave). I tend to buy the year’s upfront postage from places like Disturbia and EMP so I can buy just 1 item without paying lots for shipping.
